Project Koraha - Remuera
Breathing new life into a 1910 bungalow — we set out to honour its century-old charm while creating a bright, modern home for a lively young family of four.
Warmth, texture and pops of unique detailing were integral to the kitchen and bathroom transformation, so our vision was to transform the kitchen and bathrooms into tactile, functional spaces that felt both timeless and inviting. We built depth through layered textures and thoughtful details: the natural warmth of timber vanities, offset by the understated texture of microcement walls that respond beautifully to light.
Paying homage to classic Colonial European elegance, we introduced timeless checkerboard tiled floors with refined border detailing in the laundry and bathrooms—effortlessly weaving heritage charm with contemporary ease.
Natural stone benchtops and vanity tops add quiet luxury, their veining and depth bringing richness that evolves with the day’s light. Custom reeded walnut-toned oak vanities have a crafted feel, while the kitchen’s Euro-style grid cabinets proudly showcase the beautiful, visible grain of natural wood—turning everyday moments into something special.
The home now feels balanced: history preserved and a new, functional chapter started.
